What rpm are you running with that combo?
ORIGINAL: David Cutler

ORIGINAL: IronCross

Got a Saito .72 in my Dago... Goes good but not as fast as I want... I am thinking seriously of a Satio 100 or YS 110.
Plane flys great and looks good... Great plane
I have a YS110 in mine (spinning a 12x10 prop) and it is the perfect fit if you want speed and flexibility. It bolts straight into the space available, and does not require any extra weight at the tail to get the balance correct.

An awesome match!

What props are they using? Thanks

The 110 WM warbirds at our field are fast, huh David?!! We are spoiled with getting to watch those guys really tear it up. There are some with the 140 and 120s on them too. It makes the 91 s or the 110s look like they are dead sticked! Really nice looking when in formation. I don't think you would be dissapointed!

My YS110 plus APC 12x10 runs about 11,500 rpm. I have tried a 12x11 and a 12x10 wide blade and reckon it's just too much for the engine.

I may be just overcautious being my first fourstroke and all. I running that 12/12 at 9600. I could lean it out higher but I'm just not sure

When I transferred the YS110 from a 66 inch wingspan Edge running a 16x4, to the Dago Red running a 12x10 I had to richen it out, especially the bottom end, quite substantially.

I always run my engines slightly rich anyway.

Here you go......

Modified WM Miss America, quite a bit. Not my intention really, but this is what happens when you get carried away.
Engine TT Pro .61 on pipe, 20% nitro and APC 10x8 prop.
Flys really well as do most WM P-51's, not extremely fast but will turn 16 000 RPM on the ground with fresh bearings. Maybe 110 MPH in the air, great fun.

Looks nice.... Did that TT slide right in or did you have to modify the mounts ?...
So many ways to go :-]

Guys, what spinner are you using? I'm still using the stock spinner, and while it looks like it runs true, it might be out of balance. I haven't balanced it and there isn't a lot of vibration, but this is the 2nd Webra .50 that has noisy bearings after less than a gallon of fuel...
The prop is carefully balanced, but perhaps the spinner is causing the problem at high R.P.M.? I'm thinking about getting a new spinner, and maybe something a little different. How much are the carbon fiber spinners? I don't want to spend a ton, but if I go to my G90 or Saito 1.00 I don't want to use a cheap spinner.

IronCross

Sure did, standard engine mounts, everything!
Mind you, that being said. That's probably the only thing that hasn't been modified.

FALCON XR
I checked out that thread... All I can say is WOW.. It looks more like the Dago Red then the WM Dago Red does with the flames and all... Wish I had the talent for that kind of art work... Very nice job... Hope you get many happy flights off it in it's second life :-]

i got a dago red with a ys 110 turns a 12x10wide at 12,900 rpm, my only problem im having is the cowling wont stay on and about 1/2 way into the flight starts comming loose and making a flutter sound, also todays flight the right alerion busted right next to the control horn and i have the surfaces sealed top and bottom with tape so reduce the chances of getting flutter. After looking closer at it tonight i think its the mount so im gonna swap it out and hope that cures it. I just hope it dosent rip off the front of plane like it did on my top flight p-51, my 110 only has about 15 flights on it and smaked the runway hard on like the 4th flight couldent even find the head of the motor so well see what happens hope the mount cures it ......... I have a OS .61FX in mine and love it!
Had a OS .50SX in it first, which moved it along great but a .61FX with a pitts. is much better.
Had to add 3oz. in the tail with the .61
