CG Stinson 108
Greetings,
First flights of my new CG Stinson 108 took place, very satisfactorily. The model required only a bit of up elevator trim, and flies like a very hot Kadet Senior.
I have an OS FS-120II swinging a Scimitar 16X6 prop, which is more than this light model needs, but the throttle took care of the excess. It is light on the controls, and yet very solid. A word of caution: the Stinson 108 is a bit low to the ground-landing must have a bit of a nose hi component.
I did need the 4 'C'-cell flight battery pack mounted on the firewall to get the cg located. That and a spinner got the job done. Some elevator down trim was needed to offset flaps-down pitch up, but I have not as yet completed my flap operation activity.
