flyring after a while
Hello,
I got my first trainer when i was 14. I took courses with an instructor and learned to fly on his plane for the period of 15 hours. I also spent 15 hours on a computer simulator with a buddy box. After that, i started flying my trainer which i ended up crashing when it hit a bird at about an altitude of 500M. It broke into a zillion pieces when it fell nose down from that height. Everything broke and there was not much i could do about it. Now i'm 20. I got my second trainer. I havent touched an R/C plane for over 4 years now. Would you guys recommend me taking my trainer to a local club and attemping the first flight myself? What should i do?

Trainers
A trainer type model is always a good idea in a case like yours... just in case.
It may be that you'll build and fly the plane, and have no problems at all. On the other hand, if there's anything you've forgotten, or just want to get the "feel" back, a trainer is a great way to go, because it gives you more time to think.
Besides, a trainer is a good airplane to have around when you just feel like doing some relaxing flying, and could be used to train others.
No need to be embarrassed about getting a trainer. It's a smart move that could save you some money and frustration.

Hello,
I know that the best place to start would be with a trainer. However, my question is, should i attempt the first flight on my own or should i take more classes or something? Should i ask someone at the field to take it off for me and give me the controls later on?

Let the other person take the plane off and give you controls later. See how much you remember, and see how the other person thinks you are doing.

I would highly recommend getting some help. Most of the experienced fliers at the field will be happy to give you a hand.
You may not need it, but then again, if you do, you'll still bring your plane home in one piece.
After that first flight, you'll know for sure if you can handle it, and if not, you can just keep coming to the field for help.

Mike James is right. Having a trainer is great for relax flying, OR it's GREAT practice in 34 mph wind gusts! Nothing gives you a more intense brain workout.
Only thing I would recommend if you try it yourself, is pick a field with absolutely NOTHING sticking up for a long ways around you. If there isn't any fields, make the drive to find one.
