I use a 50% mix of rubbing alcohol and ammonia. Or denatured alcohol too works well.

I clean em at the feild with a common kitchen cleaner (409, Cinch, Fantastik) with Windex in it and clean it again when I get home with Johnson's Pledge. Shines them up like new and gets rid of any oil film.

Hi!
Cured epoxy is easiest removed from plastic film coverings by aceton...or eaven better, heating it with an iron. Methanol will not work.
Ca glue is easiest removed by using pure nitro.
