SAPAC F-22 Raptor RTF Package?
Hello Jet Jocks,
I was wondering if anyone has tried the SAPAC F-22 RTF. It is a twin 64 mm, brushless EDF, jet that comes as a complete package. VivaHobby and another fellow are selling them on EBAY. They also have a F-18, done up as a Blue Angel.
Any experience or Thoughts?

Predman,
Any troubles of note? The tailerons kinda look a bit weak. Did you do anything special? Any other mods?
Also, have you found a source of those funny red battery connectors? I'd like to get a few to make up another pack and a charging cord.
Thanks for the info,
Dave

I put some tape under the tailerons to be safe,i epoxied them on. Those red connectors look like the eflite ones ,I''l check to see if they are a match. I did also put a wheel collar on the front gear so a rough landing would not push up and break off the servo mount. I put a strip of clear tape on the leading edge to protect the foam from and slight bumps during transportation in the car, just minor things.

Hello:
With ref to the Raptor. Did you mix the elevators to work with the aileons or did you use straight elevator and aileron contol?
Also, where did you put the collar on the nose wheel.
I do not know if I am posting this message to you correctly. I am flyingfred1. You can e-mail me at:

Thanks Much: Fred

What other mods did you do? Different battery? Thrust tube on the exhaust? Clean up the inlets?
The reason I ask is I had some troubles which I don't want to repeat.

RE: SAPAC F-22 Raptor RTF Package?
Well, I can see nobody has posted here for quite a while. I got mine and am putting it together. Test flight on Sunday. I seitched the funny red connectors for good old Deans and charged them on my Thunder AC6. I also put tape on the leading edge and set control horns to the middle slot, but turned off dual rates. It took me 4 hours to get the steerable nose wheel on, and I didn't even bother with a collar. Anyone know where the reciever is?

Ace,

I did a few upgrades to my Raptor. It was under powered stock to fly here. So I upgraded to 5100KV motors and a 4200mahr 25C pack. I went from 360 watts to 600 watts. Big difference.

Post how the test flight went.

RE: SAPAC F-22 Raptor RTF Package?
I did not check what the motors are. I'm assuming that they are about 3600 kv but from what I've seen it looks like it should fly. One thing I noticed was that the landing gear are equal. There's is no angle of attack. Without any angle of attack, it takes a good 120 ft to get off the ground. I bent the main gear back so that the nose is pitched up. It looks really dorky, but it works. I'm also thinking about installing a rudder. I've drawn it out in case you might need a rudder. I hear there are some high winds in Canada and a rudder might be needed.Again test flight on Sunday. It's Friday here.
