Default Vibrations - Homelite 25 vs Ryobi 31?

Does anyone have any insight about vibration differences between these two conversion engines? I was told the Ryobi runs much smoother with less vibration as compared to the Homelite.........anyone have any experience with these two? Also, will the intensity of vibration increase or decrease with the conversion to a C&H ingnition? The reason I am asking the question is because I have a Homelite 25 that I have cut up pretty good to reduce the weight. I stopped short of purchasing the C&H ignition for it because a very experienced builder and club member advised me to beef up the fire wall due to heavy vibration from the Homelite. He indicated the the Ryobi 31 does not vibrate nearly as much as the Homelite. Any input would be helpful as I would like to either complete the Homelite conversion or dump it and convert a Ryobi 31. (BTW the converted engine will be for a Midwest Texan AT-6, 82" WS.)

I have converted several Homelites and they have very low vibration, even with the flywheels. I think the 25cc would be just right for the 82" AT6. The weight up front would be helpful. If you can get the bigger carb for it, do it. It will increase performance considerably. Carrprecision has them and Wackerengines might still have them at $20. Your Homelite 25 probably has a small hole just above the exhaust port. If you plug it (I use a set screw) it will increase compression.

I have run Ryobi 31cc and Homelite 30cc (close cousin of the 25cc), both on CH Electronic ignition. My hands don't work well enough as accelerometers to tell the difference in vibration - only enough to know that they are less smooth than a twin.

Maybe one of these with a well-balanced and heavy flywheel will be smoother. Dunno.
