Safe voltage for S9150 and such?
Futaba specifies 4.8 V only to be used with digital servos S9150, S9151, S9154 etc.
If I am going to use a regulator can I use 5.6 V ? Maybe even 6.0 V ?
My 4-cell NiCd battery has 5.6 V when it is freshly charged, so why not use it constantly.
I have heard somewhere that a 5-cell pack is not recommended with these servos as peak voltage after charging may be over 7 V.

Hi ini,
If you are sure your voltage won't exceed 6 Volts, you shouldn't have a problem. Basically, the servo is good for a 4-cell NiCd pack, but not an unregulated 5-cell NiCd pack. A 4-cell pack can hit 6 Volts when fully-charged, a 5-cell can hit 7.5 Volts.
I hope you find this information helpful. You can also reach our Futaba support technical team at 217-398-8970, or via fax at 217-398-7721.
Sincerely,
