The price seems too good to believe($129.99).....so, I a little skeptical(sp?). Any of you guys tried this engine yet? Good?...Bad?? Any info, pros and cons would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks guys, a flying buddy of mine is considering buying one. It will be his first gas engine. I told him I'd get some opinions from you guys first. He wants to put it in a Seagull Yak. I've got a Zenoah g20ei in that airframe, and it flies it ok. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the FTL 26 was not as powerful as the g20?

if it is his first gas engine you might be better off buying from a dealer that can support the engine.you will not get any help from HK,just parts, maybe.

Considering it is his first gasser I'd suggest, as was already, that he buy from a dealer like Valley View or someone that has excellent support after the sale. It will cost more initially but it will be worth it.
Just food for thought, the DLE 20 is more powerful than a G20 and much lighter.

Seagull Yak + FTL26 = dog. They fly but don't expect anything special. A friend of mine pulled his 26cc out and put the DLE in he should have started with and now its doing great. Expect to replace the ignition module with an RCexel and the plug with an NGK if you want it to run right.

Bottom line is it is a cheap engine for someone that wants a cheap engine. There's no such thing as a superior engine for a bargain basement price. As the price goes down, so does the power, quality, and longevity. People need to remember that and not expect to get steak for the cost of beans.

I agree. I currently have 5 Zenoahs, 1 ZDZ, and 2 DA engines, and I am pleased with all of them. I have also heard good words about the DLE engines.
