CRRC Ignition connections
Hi all,
I bought a CRRC ignition module to use on an engine (it was cheap!). I have three CRRC engines and all have been good, so wasn't expecting any problem with this unit.
My question is - did the sensor connections change at some point? I have a V1 GF26i that I've used with a Melody ignition and had to swap red and black - The engine was second hand with no ignition. The sensor came red-blk-white.
My new ignition (dated 2007) doesn't work with the wires in the reglar blk-red-white order, so I'm thinking swapping it back should work. It's wire is blk-red-white.
ignition is Volcano Electros.
Any ideas?

RE: CRRC Ignition connections
I just bought a MELODY ignition unit from SDS Hobby in HongKong and have the same problem. I want to use it on a Saito four-stroke but I cannot get it to fire. If you find the answer please let me know.

RE: CRRC Ignition connections
OK I know the pins are reversed (compared to early CRRC) on my older steel case Melody ignition and follow the RCexcel standard. I THINK the early CRRC sensors are not standard (fairly sure!) and have + and - swapped. If you peel the heatshrink back at the connector you'll see red, white and braid.
I don't know what the Saito sensor connections are or if they conform to the RCExcel standard - sorry!
