Perhaps wanted to buy direct at a lower price, or questioned the dealer pricing structure?

if the minimum retail price is $319 why do VVRC and TBM sell it for only $299.. I missed something...
Do they sell direct ? I didn't know... They don't even know the price of their distributors/dealers unbelievable!

Aren't there laws about setting prices?
The distributors would sell at whatever price suits their business model and it is not really up to anyone else to tell them what they must sell at - as long as they are not engaging in unfair pricing strategies.

I believe its called Competitions Compliance in most countries. The US is one of the stickiest wrt to this. Chin on the other hand may not have any such law and probably blissfully unaware of these laws in other countries.

However, distributors can offer a Suggested Retail Price or Recommended Retail Price but they cannot enforce it.

Its called MAP or Minimum Advertised Price

Thats why you see a lot of "call for prices"

I trust the Australian dealers are not a part of this.
ASIC (Australian Securities and Investment Commission) recently proscecuted a successful and very public case against someone for price collution. It it deadset illegal here and the manufacturer shouldn't make statements like this because they incriminate the entire dealer network if followed

I believe anyone can sell for as low as they desire. They just can't advertise below a certain price point. Tower avoids this with discount coupons. They advertise the lowest permissable advertising price but bump it down further with discount codes. OS, Futaba, JR, and others have limited advertising prices.

Those that understand they cannot buy ofr a dollar and sell for a dollar and make money should have a decent feel for how low they can go. If they perform "warranty" work they are stupid if they race everyone to the lowest price point. Those don't last long.

All very true but I'm surprised to see an outfit otherwise as professional as DLE putting in writing a "Minimum Retail Price"
Such a price is illegal
I can only assume they are confusing this with Manufacturer's Recommended Retail Price
Forcing a "Minimum Retail Price" is price collution at its ugliest and dealt with quite harshly in many countries

You got it Exactally right.Tons of Items are sold every day. They show the Reail price...then they say click to see " OUR" price. For the cost the DLE company has in the engines they sell, they must be making a very healthy profit. In other words...People in high-up places in China are getty pretty wealthy....fast. Capt,n

DLE got around it by no longer selling to Chinese wholesalers...
last quote I got from Cyclone was $ 166.
Then got cut off before I could order....
I have not sold any more new Chinese engines, nor will I ever again...
My good customers who got the first 34 DLE side carb 30s got the good deal.
good luck to the rest..
My warranty was as good or better than anyone else's, and better than most. For the last 25 years...
