What would you like to see in features for an R/C carburetor that we do not have now, or something that we have but needs improvement?
I would like to see a three needle low, mid and high range adjustment capability.
Would also like to see a priming function that pulls fuel to the carburetor and wets the carb. throat for fast easy starting even if the engine has not been for for a while, something like what you see on some weed eaters ETC. but improved.
Maybe an accelerator pump but not sure that would always be needed and in some cases might be over kill.
Also (and some older non R/C carbs. had this) the regulator diaphram atmospheric area internally vented to the air intake throat.
Ideas?

All this already exist on some carbs.
I have a couple chainsaws that will start and run on the first pull with the choke on. You can shut the choke off after it starts.
Accelerator pumps don't work out so well in 3D for the people that goose the throttle all the time.
There are new Walbro carbs out there with electronic mixture control that work in conjunction with the ignition. You can take the muffler off and they will change the mixture to keep it correct.

Yeah, I would love to see a Walbro type carb with a midrange adjustment myself. Personally I like the carbs with accelerator pumps as you can tune for a more precise idle and still get good throttle repsonse. I think anyone having problems using a carb with an accelerator pump probably still has their idle mix too rich.

OMG, its hard enough to get people to adjust (2) needles, much less (3)!

Oh but wouldn't it be nice to adjust that range just above idle without affecting the low or high end?

Didn't BME come out with a 3 needle mod for their carb on the 115 several years ago? Seems like this was a bandaid fix for a reed bank design problem or something similar. This might be worth investigating for those wanting a 3 needle gasser carb .....if it existed. My memory isn't what it once was.
I really like the 3 needle carbs on glo heli engines ..... but just like gassers, some people just plain hate them. Oh well, can't please everyone.

I actually have the only 3 needle carb Keith Baker (BME) ever made before selling the company. He also did a carb mod, which by the way worked just as well. The mod is to extend the High speed circuit into the middle of the venturi, tillotson uses this on a few carbs, it delays the feeding off of the high speed circuit and leans the mid range and it works well.
The original 115 also had a very huge and open reed cage, so it did have a fuel puddling problem especially when run rich. The mod corrected this, but the updated reed cage solved that problem.
I sometimes mod the throttle plate on my carbs to help lean the mid range too, but extending the high into the venturi works wonders on all engines, that is why tillotson does it.

Here's another vote for a method/device to prime the fuel circuit. If you're good and familiar with the engine and it's run frequently, not that big a deal. Otherwise, I think something like that would be a big contribution to how friendly these gassers could really be?
I have chain saws, blowers, and whackers, and primers are pretty much standard - as are the starting procedures - no matter how long they've been sitting.

Never really had any problems with choking/priming, just a few extra flips after prolonged periods of rest

I generally don't have any trouble either. My chokes are soldered shut for starters...
