Does anyone what the story is on the updated carburetor that DA has for the DA 50?
Wonder what was changed, I am assuming this is a fix for something more than the idle problem
maybe fixes the "can't get it rich enough on the high end" problem??

1) The first update (black carb spacer) fixe the idle issue when the plane's tail up. Without that mod, some engine die. DA can upgrade the old engines for free or you can ask all the parts and detailed instruction sheet to do it yourself. I did it and it's very easy.
2) The "can't get it rich enough on the high end problem'' has nothing to do with the problem above and it depends of your altitude. If you fly near sea altitude level, you might need to replace the stock carb WT201 by a WT76 because the high needle valve is too small.
See here the complete story.

After these 2 mods, you'll gain 100RPM and a great running engine. Menz 22x8 7050RPM (hot) after 2 gallons and 100RPM on the rich side.
