im new at gas engines and i have a 29% racer formula 1 type plane 15 pounds.it calls for 26-35cc. but i was looking at the BCMA 40(spe). or something that will work good for sport flying and going fast.No 3D.I heard zenoah was good but heavy. And i need something reliable, fairly fast and meets the recommended engine size.Or like the spe.40.PLEASE HELP

A-40cc gas migt get a 15 lb plane up to speed but it would take a while. I would say you are looking for something like the 3W-56cc twin. If it's in your price range. No one makes off the shelf power like 3W IMnotsoHO I have one and a ZDZ50, the 3W56 makes half again the power. I also have a SPE-40. I think they bought these engines off a used paint shaker salesman. Mine flew twice and shook a tailsurface off each flight on a giant UDO. By the way it's free to the first person to come get it.

There is some solid advice. More money than the 40's but WAY more power. You would have a very overpowered, fast 15lb aircraft there. You could prop it for speed or for vertical and have a ball. As a bonus, the Zenoah's like to rev and there is no better way to speed than a small, high pitch prop at high rpm's. And Ralph's work is superb and prices dirt cheap.
