I am nearly 2 years old and I live in a 30% Cap 231. My 'pilot' is of the view that I was made for a chainsaw to operate in harsh environments and be generally abused whilst singing my nuts off on any oil that happens to be lying about whilst religiously singing around the 8000 rpm mark whilst trying ever harder to reduce the available cooling. I lead a hard life!! His other view is that break-in period is japanese for open the box !!!
Today I got my own back!!!
After two years (5 hours running) of constant abuse I fought back. The last time I ran was Sept 06 - no lay up - no special treatment - just taken home from the field and stored in a garage.
I new I was in for a beating - my good friend Mr Battery was sweating whilst being charged.
So how did I reak my revenge???
Choke out 4 flips and I coughed - choke in and I held on as long as I could but on the third flip I couldnt resist the urge any longer and burst into life. I did consider being awkward and pretending not to transition from idle to full power cleanly because he hadnt checked my carb over or anything - but I couldnt remember how to do it ( I must read the book by my friend Mr D. Aircraft ;-))
So as it was a howled with power for about 15 mins, never missed a beat and did what was required without fuss.
Did it work?? I'll say - when I landed I am heard him say 'Thats really odd - it usually starts 2nd flip' !!!
Next time out I am really going to freak him out and require 4 flips!!
