Im building the SIG Sukoui and contemplating on a couple of glow engines. Should I go Moki or MDS?
I have a Moki 1.8 on an edge, so I'm familiar with break in and attitudes of the moki. No complaints from the Moki, in fact one of my favorites, I just thought I would try MDS if its good stuff.
Any body have the MDS 2.18 on a 14-15 lbs plane? I know there is certainly a price diff between Moki 2.1 (~$300) and MDS 2.18 (~$200).
Thanks for the help...

Full throttle-
I have an MDS 2.18 that I will offer to you for cheap.
I planned on using it in my PW 300X world models. Does not run for ****. So, name your price.
I'm looking at a Moki 2.1 or a gasser.

yes - bought it new last summer from Quantum Models in KY.
Spoke with Horizon TS and they suggested backing out the low end needle screw 5 turns from closed.
Couldnt get it out that far, maybe 3 turns and still wont run.
Its Moki or gas for me.

I have a buddy with a MDS 2.18 in his GP Patty Extra. He had a bit of a problem getting it running and ended up putting a Perry pump on it. It seems to run great now.

The MDS 2.18 is $220 at Horizon. The Moki 2.1 is $270 from Dave Patrick. At only a $50 difference the Moki wins hands down. The Moki is a GREAT engine it does have a long break-in but lasts for ever. BTW I broke a crankshaft on a 5 year old Moki. Moki said the crankshaft should never break and repaired it at no cost. Most likely it doesn't break with normal use but when you put a pipe on a Moki you wouldn't believe the power (i.e. 18x8 @ 10,200 rpm's = 5 hp and that's only a 1.8)
