Default Plug for G-38

I purchased a G-38 from an individual. The motor was like new. I felt that I would replace the plug. After taking the Champion Plug out of the G-38, I found that the number on the plug did not match the recommended Champion Plug in the Owners Manual.

The plug that was in the G-38 was #584 RCJ7Y.

The plug recommended in the owners manual was C-859

I went to Lowes and a local lawn mower repair shop, but could not find either plug.

Which plug should I be running and where do I find it?

Thanks,

Ed

Default Plug for G-38

Ed,

They are the same thing. what you see on the plug itself is RCJ7Y, and its Champion part number is 859, which is also what you will see marked on the end of the box. I buy them from Napa Auto Parts - about 2 bucks a pop. Look at the image - the end of the box - directly below the 859 is RCJ7Y
