That is a very prudent choice. Many posts on here about the Sullivan's that are crap, and the wrong DuBro, which deteriorate. It is worth the effort to get the brown Dubro. Then *you* know what is in there, and you won't be wondering when it will crap up your carb. I usually add a couple to a Tower order just to have 'em in the box. Like klunks....you don't want to not have one when you need to rebuild.

Bob is correct, I learned the hard way about fuel tank stoppers. I will always use the DuBro red/brown stopper for gas engines. I keep a couple of spares.

Thanks, George. I've never had one problem w/the brown ones.

I got the skinny from Dubro today. They did in fact once sell black gas stoppers, without the O stamped on the front. The guy @ Dubro said not to trust them, because of their age, not their composition.

Sounds like good advice.

Personally I'd just run out and get a Dubro stopper but I'm not in Kuwait and don't know if they have a local hobby shop
They should have enough gas there to test the H9 stopper though ... maybe even a couple of drops left to put in the tank

Or you could do is pick yourself up a piece 5/32 brass tubeing at your LHS and make your own. Just cut some small pieces and solder them on. It works just as good.

Hey Guys....FWIW....I attended the "XFC" event a couple weeks ago (as spectator)....A cruise thru the "Pits" & I could NOT find a single pilot using the "Stopper" type fuel tank....Without exception (all that I could look at) they were all using tanks with screw/on caps with fittings SUCH as these (bottom of page) http://www.pspmfg.com/WaterBottleFuelTankCap.html ....Again FWIW....

tande,

Yep, that's the new rage in fuel tanks for gassers.

Just as the DLE20, JBA-15g, and NGH-17 gassers are rapidly replacing similar sized glows,
those home made gas tanks are starting to replace the old stopper style tanks.

Some have claimed to have had the old style tanks to split at the seams near the opening.
Others have mistakinly used the glow stopper with gas and with bad results.

So, enter the see through home made tank. That see-through feature is another big plus.
Makes it very easy to see if your clunk is still on!

If anyone wants to know more about such tanks, here's a couple links about them.....

Thanks Jim....I too have since converted three of my own to "Soda/Bottle" fuel tanks & wish I had done it long ago! ...
Take care....
