Default Fuel for Moki 1.8?

I have been using Byron FAI fuel in my Moki, but now the hobby shop no longer stocks it. What other FAI fuel works well with the Moki engines? I am using an on board glow system with no pump or regulator. Thanks in advance.

5% nitro fuel works well also, maybe even better than the FAI. ANy more than 5% and you are just wasting your money, although the engine will run OK. I have run mine on anywhere from 0% to 10%.
One choice is to mix your own FAI if you can find a source of methanol and oil. I get methanol from a boat racing place 5 gallons at a time. And the local hobby shop sells Klots synthetic oil.

Do a search on Cooper fuel. He makes a Moki blend. I believe he is even in Michigan.

Check Morgan's fuel web site for oil and mix your own. About 10% oil is all you need and it will cost you about $5 a gallon to mix. Also look on the fuels forum.

I appreciate all the replies and info, but why has Byron fuel become so hard to come by. No hobby shop in my area seems to carry it anymore. I lived by this stuff and I am a little leary about putting a plane in the air without it. An engine out can cost a ton of $.

Folks in my neck of the woods won't clean parts in Byron's. I think it's just a personal thing, Shell or Exxon, all the same to me. Besides, why pay $22 a gal for Byrons when Performance Plus is $11 a gal.

I have been using 5% Wildcat Fuel for the last five years in my Moki 1.8. I tried 10% for the first two years, but switched and could not tell any difference except less money spent on fuel.

Nothing is wrong with it. Moki's and big ST's run a little better with 10% oil content. Standard oil %'s are around 18%. The tuning gets a little touchy and there is less fuel per oz, so you may get a tincy bit less power.
