Manual Heat Matrix
#2
rc1945, That's a tough question. The desired result is to have everyone race everyone else. With a small turnout it's challenging, so you have to get creative. If you fly 5 rounds you will have repeats. 15 contestants is the least you can run with three plane heats through 5 rounds (the accepted standard) without repeats. About the best you can do with a small field of contestants is to simply pair up every combination that has everyone flying one another, and then run that sequence again, (and again if desired).

My Feedback: (15)
I encountered this many years ago...so I made my own in Excel. I have 3-man, 4-man, all the way up to 12-man matrixes (matrices?). Scores sheets, pilot sheets, cuts, finish order, points...all on the spreadsheet made to fit on a clip board. No computer needed. I would bring printouts of each size matrix to the local race and after seeing how many racers entered, I would simply fill in the appropriate matrix. Email me and I can send you the file.
