Default Jekyll 91 knife edge pitch question

Chip - my Dad built us a Jekyll 91 from an old PAC kit. We have a YS 91 on it and it flies very well. My Dad has spent about 20 flights trimming it and it seems to be pretty good. The plane has a lot of down pitch coupling witn rudder. We have mixed most of this out with the Tx, but the amount of down seems excessive. Is this a characteristic of the Jekyll? Is there some other trim that will affect it (balance, incidence etc.)?

Thanks for all that you've done for the hobby!

Default RE: Jekyll 91 knife edge pitch question

Ryan,

Those planes took a ton of up elevator with rudd, because back then we didn't know that the stab position affected knife edge. That plane you have is the same fuse that I had when I won the worlds in 91. My plane had 25% up elev. with rudd to knife edge straight, but you never knew it was there, because it needed it all the time. Don't worry about how much mix is required, only worry if it doesn't need it all the time.

Good Luck

Chip
