Default DA-50 throttle question?

I have a DA -50 an i have a Futaba 3004 servo on the throttle. It seems that when full throttle is engaged the servo is under a lot of load an starts buzzin' an all, and it doesn't seem too good. Should i take that spring out of the throttle thats causing a lot of unnecessary resistance?

Thanks,

Chris

You should not take it off, just un-hook it.

Chris

leave the spring here and put a good quality servos on the throtle with enough torque, The biggest mistake we do is to install a cheap servos on the throtle. Your DA 50 does not deserve that believe me.

Installing a S3004 on a DA 50 is like installing a Canadian tire exhaust on a Ferrari....

My 2 cents...

The 3004 is Futaba's standard ball bearing servo. If the servo is buzzing only at the full throttle setting, check and be sure that you have set the end point travel correctly.

Disconnect the servo from the throttle. Then check and see if the servo buzzes with it at the full throttle setting. If not, you need to set the travel end point. My guess is that it's traveling too far, and buzzing under load. If you reset the end point for full throttle, the buzzing will stop. Leave the spring on, as it helps prevent the wear on the throttle arm(bearing).

My vote is with the better servo. Use a good quality servo, don't get cheap. I actually use digitals on my bigger planes throttle. What's another $50? Then make sure the end points are set up properly as the other reader stated.

Same here. Get out the cheap 3004 or do like us: Live and learn.

Sounds like your end point is set wrong. or your getting a good amount of slop in your pushrod.

I'm using a hitec HS-475HB for my throttle. Futaba S3004 for choke.
