Default Large Eurofox Project

Anyone built a large Eurofox/Kitfox/Skyfox/Aerotrek A220 or know of one out there? I'm toying with 1/2 scale but will probably go 40%. Need a push to start and am in the "will I or won't I" stage.

Based on this example

This is the same colour scheme as a local one.

Hi Bananaman,

I too would like to see one that has been completed. I have a set of Jerry Bates Kitfox plans and am going down to the blueprint shop tommorrow to get them blown up to 40 percent. Decided to go for it even if I have to tape several sheets together. I think a 140" wingspan is about right.

Please keep me posted with your project as I am really interested. Maybe even start a build. Thanks.

Alex

Will do Alex. I'll do some drawings over the next few weeks and play with some configs.

Have you considered the latest version with the Aussie radial engine?

Yep, have considered a radial but it will be a tug as well so I'll go with a large twin of some kind for simplicity and budget probably a DA150. I have nearly completed the fuselage in devCad. A bit of tweaking to do, then the wings/tail next in Profili. Only being built in the data world for now.

Actually John, I am considering a radial. Does anyone have any advice on the size and type? Was considering a Seidel as I am on a budget.

The Kitfox is 40 percent and blown up from Jerry Bates plans. Probably about halfway framed up. I think a radial is the way to go.

That was quick Alex, certainly looks the part. Secondhand Moki/RCS 150?
Post more pics and info, I'm keen to see it all. Looks like you could do floats as well from that porch view.
For my project I've lost a lot of potential building time, commuting to another city each week eats up spare hours.
Still interested but some other projects are ahead in the queue for now.

Anyone flown a model Kitfox before??? Just wondering how they fly. Mine is about done with just a few details to go (cowl, landing gear, Kitfox logo). Sure would welcome a flight report before I test fly this one.

Managed to fit standard sized servos in for the elevator. Hinges made from glass fibre plate
