Default removing baffle on OS 40la

Has anyone run an OS 40la engine with the muffler baffle cone removed, and did this give a slight power improvement? This engine is so quiet that a little more noise wont be a big deal, especially if it ran stronger and possibly smoother. Honestly this engine is so quiet that when my plane is out at a normal altittude its hard to tell if its still running.

Default RE: removing baffle on OS 40la

Hi,

I removed the baffle and whilst the 40 LA will never be a powerhouse the performance does improve.

Cheers,

Colin
