If had only one brand of props to choose from it would be a Graupner every time, by far I have more hours flying Graupners than any other brands. They're all I use on my Diesel conversions.

Been using plastics to save on props from minor ground strikes since I was just learning. Now that I have a handle on taking off and landing, I can switch to wooden props when the APC's meet their end. The only one I might keep as APC is the Mustang, it has a Scimitar on it and flew the plane nicely, and sounded good as it ripped past. I did find one prop that was excellent for the Cud, the Evolution brand, which is no longer available. It would idle low and had just the right amount of pitch to fly a Cub in a scale like speed on a 100 at 1/2 throttle.

A quick pic of a harley xg500 ladies learner bike fuel tank.She want's it that way she gets it.
ps barry a page or two ago the subject of evil handling harleys and other overpowered 70's jap motorcycles came up.Here's a 1975 rickman framed kawasaki z900 powered fix for that problem.Painting it next week or two.

Hi Pete (and Dave)- I keep scrolling up and down and can't find Dave's message again. I have to get used to this new forum software. I think Dave said something about a Kaw 900, right? That's the Z-1 Dave. I'm 6'1", or 73 inches tall. I don't know about it in metric kilos or British stones. A conversion website says I'm 1.854 meters high. All I'm trying to get to is I'm tall have long legs and the Z-1 was too big for me. A bit later Kawasaki released the 650 quad 4 stroke that was a big deal. I would probably want one of those if I ever came across one. I worked at an airfield where 2 guys had Kawasaki Z-1s. One was well kept and other rusty, filthy, and generally neglected.
Pete, that is one fine gas tank and I'm not just blowing smoke up your butt. Seriously, that is a clever design. I love the blue choice. Not much, but enough to stand out on all that beautiful place. I hope you got good money for your work. You have some good stuff going on. Thanks for the pics.

Barry, I seriously doubt that I mentioned a Kawasaki 900, I am an admirer of the 1400 Ninja or whatever they call it now.
Jim, I measured the venturi's of the Saito 1.00, the 1.25 and the 1.50 S
Saito 1.00 venturi===8.0 mm
Saito 1.25 venturi===8.75 mm
Saito 1.50 venturi==10.0 mm

Wow, nice day today and got the gumption to fly at home, but ground is still too soft to take the mower out to chop down some tall weedy sticks so the Apprentice was out of the equation, and didn't want to haul all my glow or gas stuff out or deal with the noise, and due to the weight didn't want to risk it with the one neighbor being so close(and their trees) so went and got a BNF Radian powered Glider. Has an 80 something inch wing, 3 channel(something new to me) and uses 2200 mah 3S that I have a pair of that have no time on them. Took less than an hour to put together, balance and bind. Had it done before the first pack was charged. Took the kids out to the front pasture, powered it up and tossed it in the air. Not a bad plane for under $200. I was a little concerned with landing since it is a glider, and I have power lines and a few trees to contend with, have to guide it in just right, and keep the speed down, and it landed nicely, though some of the weed sticks dented it a bit.
First flight of the year is done! Woot!
Not only that, the plane will be perfect to take with us when we go camping and if there is an open area, I can just toss it up and fly it around. Wings come off with two screws, no leads to worry about since no ailerons, and fits in the back of my truck.
Sorry though a Saito wont fit on it.

so what about the OD of their Intake Manifolds, are they different sizes ??

Jim there is a link on this site to every saito engine dimension you could wish for,the paperwork that comes with every new engine is good too.Do you have a pair of verniers?
Dave that kawasaki zx14 is called a ninja but most people call them bloody fast.I've ridden one and my hands were shaking so bad when i stepped off the bike i had to wait for a minute before i took my helmet off.I think barry's suggestion about riding a kawasaki 650 quad is a lot braver tho,those things have hospital food written all over them.
ps thank you for the praise barry

Hey Pete, it comes in green to match my new LT 40.
The engine code for the 1.15 is AM, Horizon only has about 4 parts left.
PS, they only have 3 parts left, the 4th is a carb body for an FG 30-B engine but is $115.00, what a genius of a website.
The 1.25 intake pipe measures 10.5 mm at the bottom and 11mm at the top
The 1.00 intake pipe measures 10 mm at the bottom and 10.5 mm at the top. I measured around the circumference to make sure the curve was not causing the difference. They are both straight at that point. Interesting.

The other day when I was running in the old/new .65 I thought it was kind of loud, the exhaust note had a smacking sound to it like a straight pipe. I just discovered why, I had a Saito 1.00 muffler on it. The correct muffler is on the right, the 1.00 muffler is in the center and the left muffler is the 1.25 muffler. The right muffler is the correct 65/82 revised muffler. Picture #3 is an old picture of the 1.25 and the 1.15 side by side.

well Bologna Bologna Bologna Salami, I have still been going back and fourth between the Saito 125 or the HP120Ti for my P-40, and I was really swinging towards the HP Inline because it's just too cool,, but when I did the numbers I found the HP with 2 Mufflers will be right at 1 pound heavier than the Saito 125 w/Muffler, so I was back swinging towards the Saito, and knowing I would be happy with it,,
but, and you have got to know that there is always a 2nd but, I found a post about my plane and it seams the 125 is a rather tight fit in this plane's Cowl, so the side of the cowl will need to be cut up for the exhaust,,, so the guy put a Saito 100 in his plane with a "Right Angle" adapter on his exhaust and the plane was good to go, so, I too do not want to cut up my cowl, so I should really put my 100 in my plane as I did fit it into the Cowl and it fits pretty good,,
and now, there is a 3rd but>, and yes of course, sometimes there is a 3rd but, in this case> there was 2 guys in that post that had this plane with the Saito 100 in it, and the words those 2 guys used to explain the performance of this plane with the Saito FA 100 was "OK" and "adequate",
my God,,, only, only "OK" and "adequate", remember what Pete told me, he has a Spitfire this size and his 115 flies it at scale speed,
now what am I going to do ? I want more power, and the 125 is physically to big,,
LOL that's the hobby

In the words of the Old Fart, put a 115 in it.
So, I am looking to obtain plans from Jan Hermkens for the 1/10 scale B-17. What I have found is that it uses .50 sized 4 strokes, so thinking, as I do at times, and yes, it DOES hurt and create smoke, what would be a good fit for this, with power to spare spinning 3 blade props, and good fuel economy! FG-11! But wait, those f'rs are expensive! OK, so what is it based on? FA-62! But wait, theres more! How do I make them efficient and yet maintain that power over the FG-11, CH Ignitions of course! So will need to start searching for the FA-62 at swap meets over the next few years and gather at least 5 or 6 so I have a spare or two for parts, and get the ignitions for them.
now to go find some aspirin or rum, while still able to walk.
