This company doesn't have the muffler but they have everything else.

Companies like Slimline and Bisson generally make the smoke type mufflers or you can make your own. The mufflers made for the OS 46FX will fit your engine.

There's a pretty big weight penalty for such a small plane as a .53 powered one.

I was thinking the same thing. You could make your own system,but an extra pound on a .40 size plane is a little much. This may sound stupid,but have you ever put a long streamer on the back of the plane. It's not smoke but a 30' streamer is interesting to watch. 30' on each wing tip even more so.
