Default Sullivan standar starter on 24 volts?

Has anybody tried 24 volts in an standard sullivan starter?, I am planning to start an OS BGX engine but at this moment I only have my standard starter and would like to try it with 24 volts to see if it is enough to satart the big engine.

Ragrads,

Alfredo

Default RE: Sullivan standar starter on 24 volts?

Been using them for years on 24 volts starting boats. The brushes wear a little faster, but still last 3-4 years of heavy use. Replacement brushes can be found at well supplied marine dealers. A very similar motor is used on trim pumps.
