Default 49-PI Wankel engine

Hey folks

I got a 49-pi (not the second version) and noticed that the muffler does not have a pressure outlet and where does the other vent on the crankcase be postioned at? Any suggestions to help me with this first time rotary engine would be appreciated greatly. And can I use the OS 4 stroke glow plug like the 49-PI type II uses.(instead of the W)

The engine does not require muffler pressure. I don't think the positioning of the drain nipple matters much either. The RE plug is no longer available, so we are left with running the F plug in all the wankel models as per OS recomendation. I bought a couple of the last RE plugs from my LHS when it was known that they were to discontinue them. There may be more of them out there in other shops just collecting dust.

You can download a 49-pi manual from OSENGINES.com

Read here what i learned about the wankel engine: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/fb.asp?m=5998885

The older Wankel engine need R plug, but i has not tried to use the F plug since my R plug are not burned out. It is a worth to try the F plug in the older wankel engine since the R plug are out of production. My new last wankel engine are running with F plug recommended by OS engines MFG, works very well.
