OS 61 FX Carb Question
I was flying my airplane with a 61FX in it, and notice i lost control of the trottle, it was running practically wide open, but i noticed it would hesitate when pointed vertical. Upon landing it i noticed the whole barrel/rotor was out the only thing holding it was the clevis on the throttle arm. Luckily the throttle stop screw and spring was still there so i put it back together and it would not idle at all.....
I looked at the exploded view for the carb, and the only thing that is missing is the carburetor rotor spring, could that be what is not letting my engine idle? I messed with the low end needle and that is not the problem

RE: OS 61 FX Carb Question
The spring is important, it keeps the rotor from vibrating back and forth, allowing the carb to maintain consistant idle mixture settings.
Any replacement spring you can find that fits and maintains light pressure on the rotor, should work okay.
Consider it a stroke of luck that nothing was ingested into the engine.

RE: OS 61 FX Carb Question
yes i got very lucky, http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...ring&search=Go i really hate taking parts off of "good engines" if you were to order a rotor spring for an os 61fx carb, which one would you order, or just order all three to be sure
