K&B 61 Need to know position of piston ring gap
After searching these forums I thought I would find an answer to this question but I have not had any luck.
I purchased this K&B 61 ringed engined a year ago which was new in the box but the guy whom I bought it from said he tore it apart to check the internals but wasn't sure he put it together properly. So I purchased it and disassemblied it taking pictures as I was go along but the only thing that I'm not sure about is the position of the piston ring gap. Does anyone know where this gap should be positioned at when putting it back together?

I used to have four of these and I was trying to remember.
I'm thinking there is a locating pin for the ring.
If the ring is pinned and you do not have the notch on the pin aligned you will not be able to get the piston into the sleeve

....there is no positioning pin for the ring on the K&B .61....
....the ports in the cylinder wall are designed so the ring can rotate, and never protrude
an end through the port, as to catch and break....it is a free floating ring.

FBD - nice pix. What kind of camera do you use? How many megapixels? Was it handheld for these pix? Do you use special lighting?
I apologize for so many questions. I am thinking of getting a digital camera and wondering which one to get.

Leehop maybe this will help I bought a Kodak easy share C713 it is 7 megapixil think it was $99 on sale .shoots Video too, You can get a Kodak, cannon or samsung for this price now
qualilty good on all. and all hitting 7 megs, You are limitied in the megapxils you can load on the site use the e mail setting or a max I think of 1.2 megs
I shot some high res pix and the message came back file too big and could not upload martin
Nikons are a little pricey same situation you can buy an OS 4 strk or a Magnum /ASP they all work fine

....I use this old dinosaur Sony 1.2 megapixel rig, the same one I've always used
here on RCU. It has (believe it or not) a floppy disc that goes right in the side....
....in fact, that's why I bought it about 6 years ago. The floppy goes right into my old
computer, and I can upload the pics directly without any wasted time, no cord, no nothing.
It does a good job on macro pics, for this type of close up work. I have a much better camera
but it doesn't do the close up work as well as the old timer.

Ringed engines with non pinned rings have little square sections to the exhaust port
Ringed engines with a pinned ring will have a broad wide open exhaust port with no more than one divider in the center or perhaps no dividers
