Specs for an OS60?
Hi,
Can anyone give me the specifications for an OS60SR? The RPM range, CC's, Weight and Compression would be greatly appreciated.
I tried on OS motors but this motor long time deceased.
With thanks,
AUSMPW

Yo, AUSMPW....
....Airbob will have all that info....I just looked, and I
don't have any specs for them babies....
....they are 10cc....and are rated to 16K spins, as I
recall....
Did you find another carby...? Don't you have to put that
boat in the water to have some kind of load....when you
start it ?
Dave.

Specs for an OS60?
Hi Dave,
I have never been able to start it in the water. Always has been a dry start, but then a dash to the water :-)
I am using the same Carby, but with a 1 turn + 2 clicks open needle and seems to run like a dream (I think the worn needle explanation may have been the right idea). The weather was off yesterday so we are getting ready to take her for her 1st voyage this arvo :-)
Heaven help all who sail in her........
Thanks, Martin

Specs for an OS60?
These are for the .61's ABC,and ringed. (FSR's)
_______________________________________________
............disp........bore....stroke....hp....rp m......weight.
ABC..... 9.95cc.... 24.0 ....22.0 ....1.8@17K ....533 gr.
Ring.... 9.95cc.... 24.0 ....22.0 ....1.7@17K ....531 gr.
ABC practical rpm 2,000-17,000
Ringed practical rpm 2,000-16,000
They don't give the compression....(secret)....
The older .60 FSR is pretty much the same specs....
....only the prop stud is 1/4", and the .61's are 5/16.
Look what's on the back of this poster, in the carbs....

Specs for an OS60?
Well? How was it? Yep, a success, of sorts :-)
Engine ran like a dream. Only problem was 2 minutes in, engine cut out, ran another couple of times but everytime, 2 minutes and dead stop. BUT, on the last run I noticed that the water wasn't exiting the cooler pipe at a rapid rate so I am figuring that the water cooling device needs some attention but hey, I can live with that. Thanks for the motor info. I would sure liked to have a re-developed boat and slug one of those FS60M's in, just for good ole grunt :-)
I have included a couple of pics for perusal. Try again tomorrow and see what happens.
Thanks,
Martin

Specs for an OS60?
1st time for me at that waterway. They built a freeway right past town and this is where the toen joins it. Perfect. 5 minutes in the car, 2 lakes, easy access and well, the list goes on.
I actually tried once to make a cover for this, with air flow to the head in mind, but it never really worked. The engine only got hotter (Mainly cause I couldn't get the air directed ONTO the head, only over the top of it) and it became all a bit too difficult. If I could direct some air onto the head, without too many mods, I would like to. I did notice on the last run that when the boat was going slow that there was no water gushing out. Before there was at least some water. Only at higher speeds would it start to exit but not enough. Combine that with an ill fitting water ring (Hence the tin foil on the head) and I think this may be the problem. I am assuming that if an engine overheats it will just stop dead?

Spec's
Try this again.
Displacement; 9.95 C.C (.607 CU IN.)
Bore: 24.0 m.m (.945 in.)
Stroke: 22.0 m.m (.866 in.)
Practical RPM: 2000 / 16000rpm
Power Output 1.7 ps (16000 rpm)
Weight: 470 grams (16.6 oz)
Hey, I thought I sent you guys the m instructions for the motor. I will re-send it but in an zip file.
I also believe the motor is overheating, that is why it runs for only a few minutes. I would take the head apart and get it working again before you score the piston and cylinder.

Specs for an OS60?
Jackin it up is outa the question as its a solid shaft drive and would require some major mods to realign it :-(
Certainly will add more castor but. And the only reason I ran it at fairly low speeds today was the fear factor :-) Usually it'll run flat out. I gave it a couple today but, well, nervs wins the day.
And Bob. Displacement? I don't understand? Later for the Fibreglass - where is the gaffa tape and cardboard

Marty....
...."tunnel ram"....that's the ticket.... ....
....take a piece of plastic vacuum cleaner pipe. or
something....set it into the bow....glass it, and paint
it red....heh heh heh....put an experimental sticker
on it (just to way-lay the fears of onlookers), and let
'er rip.....besides, if it won't run for more than a
minute....what good is that ? ....
....let it stick out the front about an inch (so it really
looks ugly)....and you don't need a spray rail....
....just tell 'em "it's supposed to look like that".
