Threadlock on Servo?
Mike,
I recently got some 945MG servos and am wondering if I need to use threadlock when using the black plastic servo arms that came with the servos? (I've heard that non-metallic servo arms compress when tightened and help "lock" the screw). Thanks.

Thread-lock is usable on metal geared servos, BUT caution is paramount. Thread-lock for small parts (there is a difference) is best for this application. Its very easy to use to much of this stuff, be careful. I would suggest something like PFM, Shoe Goo, canopy glue, white glue or the like in minimal quantity. These products will allow you to easily break loose the screw when needed when properly applied. I like PFM best, its pliable and sticks to everything and is easily removed as well.
Ball links are fine, make sure you use a threw bolt with a nut.

RE: Threadlock on Servo?
Thanks, Michael. Is threadlock such as you described needed with metal gear servos? I want to make sure the screws aren't going to loosen due to vibration, but I don't want to use threadlock if it isn't needed for the reason you stated.

Thread-locking adhesives are needed in high vibration environments such as gas powered and or high rpm equipment. To eliminate the do I need the stuff; use PFM or Shoe Goo adhesives. I use it on all my servos metal geared or not. The consistency is similar to silicone gasket sealers, but safe on nearly anything.
