RE: hop it up
I though you said all you had is a 3 speed so you do not have a truck so how can I make suggestions until I know what sort of foundation you have to work with. This is like putting the cart before the horse. Read your post so if you get an X it will keep up with and X.

OK now we are getting somewhere, as when you ask a question you have to give as much information from the start!
STS 28 or STS 30.

I am sorry but go back and read your original post in this thread and do you think most would have any idea what you are asking. Too much information is better then not enough!

Depends on your tuning ablates. If you no how to tune well there is not a problem with a pull starter if not get the roto starter one. I have never owned a roto starter.

RE: hop it up
The cheapest speed addition you could do would be change the gears in your truck. Faster how though? Straightline speed? Lap average? Acceleration? The stock motor can perfectly suit you as you come into the hobby. If you're going to race it (and thinking of putting on a cage) then lowering the gearing would give you more punch but a tad less on the top end. Seems like a great solution to get you up and running. If you're already able to do wheelies now with your 3-speed then maybe gear UP a tad to give you more top end. Lighter wheel/tire combinations, upgraded motor, etc would be steps to take once you've got a solid foundation to work from and have decided exactly what you want to do with your truck. If you try to serve two gods (racing/bashing) you'll end up sacrificing one or the other.

I run an STS .28, Hpi polished pipe, 19/47 gearing, and Nubz. My savage flat out flies. There are hundreds of hop-ups available for the savage but if speed is what you are looking for you need a good solid foundation to start from. Start with the power plant, gearing, and tire wheel combos.

Yes you can change gearing but as most will tell you the S25 is not the best engine. It is seriously underpowered. The 4.1 is a little better. For the price the STS is the best way to go.

Also has a 3-needle carb, 8-port sleeve, and a nice reputation so far. I paid $186/shipped for my .32 and their .28 was about $118 at StormerHobbies. Everybody has their preferences bro. But boosting the company you work for is called commercial advertising and it's not allowed on an open forum. I don't doubt it's a good motor but never think it's the ONLY option to choose from.

RE: hop it up
Go for the Axial 32. It will go faster than you ever expected and with crazy torque. If you get it, make sure you get a wheelie bar, you will use it.
