Digital servo with am transmitter
Is it possible to run a digital servo like the HS-5645MG with the savage x stock radio. I've heard you are not suppose to run a digital servo on am transmitters but will it work and what could happen? I know i will upgrade the radio in time but until then i want a good servo that dont cost me a small fortune

RE: Digital servo with am transmitter
It's not that it's an am system it's that the radio has no adjustments. You really need end point adjustments when you run digital servos. Most am systems are inexpensive systems and have very few adjustments. That's why people say you cannot use them.
The servo would actually function but would spend a lot of time "hunting" and that can cause servo failure and very short battery run times.

RE: Digital servo with am transmitter
I've been running an airtronics digital servo in my
sons savage 25 RTR with stock radio for almost 2 years
with no trouble. I've been running a JR digital servo in
My savage LE for almost a year now with stock radio
with no trouble. I've not seen ether of these servos
hunting or twitching.
