Default Savage with Picco .28 clutch

I just picked up a Picco P3 .28 with SG shaft, does anyone know if the stock flywheel and clutch will fit properly if I use a SG clutch nut ? I really don't want to cut the shaft to use the stock one piece clutch nut/shaft. It's a Savage .25 flywheel.

Thanks.

Correct me if I'm wrong but does the .25 not also have an SG shaft? If so, then yes, using the .25 flywheel will be fine, but I'd recomend upgrading to the 3 shoe.

NitroVette- Everything will fit perfectly fine, its a direct swap from the stock .25 engine- congrats on the monster engine purchase man. When the heck am I gonna see a vid of that Vette running!?

MMA- I think you got confused by the way Vet said "stock one piece clutch nut/shaft."- but all Savages from the 21 and up have been using 3-shoe clutches.

Tom.

Tom, sorry to tell you, but thats wrong, the [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDLF7&P=7]Savage .21[/link] did you use a 2 shoe flywheel/clutch, but yes, I was confused, the [link=http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFXU6&P=7].25[/link] did come stock with a 3-shoe.

Thanks guys, I haven't pulled the clutch off the old motor yet and just wanted to know if I needed a SG nut without the CB pilot shaft. I hope to have the Vette out this spring, it's still pretty cold up here.

All savage engines have the same standard flywheel and will fit any SG shaft engine. I use it on all my piccos from the 26 to the 28. The shoes will work but with the high RPMs that the picco makes your better off investing in alloy shoes.
