Well it looks like we are on!!
I presented the idea of an IMAC event this evening to the membership at Jetero and was not surprised that the club was all for having the IMAC event the Weekend of the 15/16 in October. The sanction is on its way and as long as there are no other conflicts with other events(none posted on the D8 web site at the moment) we should be good to go. I look forward to the challenge of putting on a great contest. Maybe I can get some ace pilot I know from up north to come down and fly with his old buddies........maybe......
This is gonna be fun!!!

That's definitely great news....I think we all have really been wishing for a Houston area contest for a while. We all thought New Waverly was going to be great after it's first contest back in 2002, but it just didn't work out apparently. I sure Hope this will grow into an annual event !! And by October......those guy's up north will probably want to head down this way anyway !!! :-)

edit: maybe a misprint because I seem to recall that the Big Bird was in September, but then again I generally can't remember what I had for lunch.

Get with SHARKS out in Shreveport LA also.............they are only 3hrs from you guys and are planning a bigbird event and an IMAC........if you guys work together on the dates and advertising you both could come out with great attendance.

I have now got a date set and the sanction is "in the mail". I had emailed Daniel Rathburn about any date conflicts and with this early a lead in time there are no conflicts so........seems like we are on for the weekend of April 29/30 in 2006!!! Now all I have to do is get ready for this thing!!!!Everybody take your judging classes!!! I will need a few!!!! It ought to be a good time and the weather will be about as good as Houston can offer!!! More information as things develop....
