I have had 3 Goldberg Ultimates. None of them needed to have the hinge gaps sealed. All of them were powered with YS 120's.

Not all beasts are alike ! Some like to have hinge lines sealed. Something to think about. It was only a suggestion for those who don't know about flutter and just to keep in mind. A friend of mine bought a built kit (Ultimate) and has a Saito 150 (overkill), and so far he did not experience any flutter. He has 2-56 pushrods and mine has 4-40 pushrods. I did not use the hardware that came with this ARF, I upgraded everybit of hardware. Like I said this is a different beast, terrific to fly with no bad habits.

Sorry I didn't mean to offend. I have just never seen a flutter problem on a Goldberg Ultimate.

I seal hinges on everything, from my foamies to my giant scales, just in case.![Wink](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)
A bit more progress. Have to harden the linkage points on the ailerons before they get covered and installed. Waiting on extensions and an A123 Racing 6.6v 2300 pack. I should get both this week. I gave up on the LiFePo4 from Hobby King as its been 6 weeks on backorder and I've waited long enough, lol.

Revy..Nice work. Just a suggestion you might want to think about it. My CG Ultimate is the ARF Blue Hawk, to make it more visible during landing approach I added yellow strips to the wing's leading edge.

Nice ultimate you got there, hope I do as good a job on mine when I start it.
Got a question on the covering though, have you just used a sticky trim covering to add your detail on top of traditional iron on covering or is your detail ironed on over the base colour! The reason I ask is although I can get a perfect base cover I struggle to iron on any detail without it being a dogs dinner/full of bubbles.
Maybe should have started another thread.

Thank-you. A clubmate expressed the same concern. I have been thinking of a solution that fits with the scheme somewhat.
I'm done the top.![Wink](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Go the Windex way. It will slide quite easily. You just have to make sure you don't spray too much. Use a credit card to squeege out the excess. Leave it overnight.

The graphics are Ultra-cote. I did iron them on. Had a couple bubbles that got worked out after pokin' them. Trick is to be light with the iron trying not to press the covering through the balsa. I actually didn't know that Windex worked on that stuff too. I knew the Mono did, just didn't have any in those colors. Learnin' a ton with this build!

About fluttering:
I have seen a CG Ultimate with a fluttering problem on one elevator, the pilot was very skilled, even though, he was in problems trying to bring the bipe down, what we found is that two ca hinges were about to be pulled out. While the problem could be only on the assembly process, (because I have not see any other fluttering problem), it is a good idea to seal the hinge line, it has also other benefits.
I did seal the control surfaces on mine and have have zero problems, (my engine is not as powerful as a YS 120, but I feel in the comfortable side anyway).

Thank you also for the offer of the Ultimate Brotherhood. I accept the Ultimate Brotherhood #60, that's a nice number.
I have zero problems since then. I learned from experienced pilots who fly big gassers.

I see the issue here, first of all, let me give to you both a great welcome to our Brotherhood (no matter what your number is), the fact here is to find interestin information as well as share some knowledge relating our CG Ultimate biplanes.
I believe, that the best way to solve this issue (as a Brotherhood), i tol try to let you both (Garthwood an Johnny Zero) to chat and come with a proposal to solve the issue.
If it is not have been taken in a short period of time, I, then, will submit for your consideration a Salomonic solution.
Either way, please consider your self, as members of our community with equal rights and obligations, please have fun.
Alfred.
