Default Pic in Message field?

How do I paste a Picture in the message field? I've seen a few guys do it but I haven't been able to figure it out how to do it myself. I've tried using the "IMG" tool on the test page but it just inserts a link. I would like to add a small pic that doesn't use any kind of a link now and then in with my message. Also, how big of a pic can I use when I figure out how to do this?

When you post in a thread and want to add a picture just scroll down below the message box and you will see another small box with browse next to it. click on that and then go to where you have the picture saved, like in 'My documents' and click on it and find the picture and click on it. This will put the needed path for the picture in the message field.

If you have the photo saved as a JPEG it should post that way doing it like I said. I have posted many pictures and that's how i do it.

No, that won't work... you have to use an image source tag, and the picture has to be hosted.
(Actually, the "browse to attach" works, but not for what the original poster wanted)

When you first get the picture hosted somewhere, where you can link to it...

THEN... instead of using html as I tried to earlier and failed

Above where you type in your message, click "IMG", then enter the web address of the pic,
then click "OK". It's simple as that. The html is done for you in the forum software, apparently.

The "browse" to attach file is the way to do it if you just want a thumbnail w/link to larger pic.
(If you don't have the picture in your gallery, or hosted somewhere else, but just on your desktop)

Not trying to take "Bozwth" thread here, just have the same intrest. Thank's Dan Z

Default Pic in Message field?

I tried this in the test post before I started this post as well. I Uploaded a picture into the photo gallery of this website and then used the "IMG" button in the tool bar above to have it put the picture in the message, but it only inserted a link to the picture into the message. It seem's to me that this is how it is done but that I'm doing something wrong.

To post a full size image at RCU insert the following tag into the message box. The easy way to do this is to click the IMG button in the message box, and insert the correct url of the image, then submit your post.

[IMG]http://www.website/image.jpg[ /IMG]

There are some website hosts like Tripod for example that will not allow remote images to be posted at sites like RCU. That may be why it's inserting the link instead of the image. There's nothing we can do about that, as it's their decision to set it up that way not ours.

You can however upload your image to RCU's gallery, and link to it from there. For example, the following image is in my gallery at RCU, and I just inserted the specific url of the image into this thread.

THIS TAG PRODUCES THE FOLLOWING IMAGE:
[IMG]http://www.rcuniverse.com/gallery/data/500/67breitlingcapfront.jpg[ /IMG]

I took this picture right off of my hard drive and it was saved as a JPEG. It's not hosted anywhere else. Is there something in the question that I am missing???
