Default OK new to lipo receiver packs , need help

I have 2 larger 300's that need 7.4 Lipo's, I have never used a lipo and why the 7.4? Are recievers not set as 6 vlt tops? What battery is the best and how and what do I charge them with?

Thank you for contacting us. I am sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I was unaware of this section actually. I am sure you have solved this already but I will try and provide some insight. Lipos are 3.7V Per cell. There is not an in-between voltage. To run in the voltage range of your receiver you would need 2 cells. Many of today's receivers can run 7.4V safely. If yours cannot you will need a voltage regulator in line to cap out the max voltage. Receiver packs do not require any insanely high amp draw so you are mainly looking for run time. The less time you spend charging the better. Also Lipo is lighter than their Nimh counter part which can also make a big difference in flight applications in terms of fly time. If you are still looking let me know what your available tray space is and I would be happy to try and find a good options for you. Here is a link to our receiver section in the meantime. - https://www.maxamps.com/products/receiver-battery-packs
