Default First build of the off season

This is something I've needed to do for a while. Started clearing space a couple weeks ago and got the holes dug for the "foundation". The wood arrived this Wed. I finished leveling the piers yesterday morning before I had to go to a skating party. Today's mission was to get the base platform done. If you look at the piles of wood you'll see that Lowes was nice enough to make me move all the wood for the rafters before I could get to the stuff I needed to use first. Finished off that and got the base platform done. Next step will be the plywood and then I'll start with the walls.

The building will be 12 by 12 with a 12/12 pitch roof. I'll build a couple lofts inside to give me space for storing stuff. My goal is to be able to fit all the lawn and garden stuff inside so I have more space for the workshop in the garage.

Sure, once I fill in between the joists with foam, I think it'll float just fine. I did tell you I was building a WOF, right?

Your off and running Chuck. I have a few additions to add the coming months (attached 3 car garage/3 rooms above, Sunroom, storage shed). All I have to show for it is a piece of string on the ground for now

Hi Chuck

Looks like a nice project. Good luck and keep us post on the build.

I did the same thing for getting room in the garage back in 1997 .

I built my shed 10 X 12 , I started May 1 and finished May 11 with help from my son's .

Now 10 years later I could use a bigger shed . LOL !

A few pic's of my build.

Steve

Wow, 11 days is impressive. Looks good. I would have liked a bigger one, but the county requires permits for anything with a wall longer than 12 feet. The hassle wasn't worth it.

Made a bit of progress after work the last two days. The walls that were built, but piled on the floor are now up and leveled. Next session will be applying the sheathing. Normally this can go on while the wall is on the ground, but I decided it'd be easier to lift the walls without it.
