Ok, so I farked up my HPI Mazdaspeed RX-8 wings (don't ask how). Body is fine, bummer on the wing. Body is champaign gold w/tinted windows.
I've emailed HPI to see if they can just sell me the wings only, but I doubt it. In the meantime, I'm preparing to order a replacement wing...there are a few to pick from. Hmm, which one?

I'm pretty disappointed in myself....
Maybe I'll just order the whole schebang again for $21, and have a spare body.

12mm standard hex, BUT, with no offset, so it does not really work w/ any of other cars... [:@]

I scored this for 60 bucks and it came in last Fri...darn thing stripped two spurs in the TA01 (exact same amount of teeth and wear), then got the diff, so I put it in the WW2, and I snapped a dogbone. It did fine in the F350 though.![Big Grin](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Anyway, I want a XBR instead being modern, so it looks like if I sell it on the bay then I can get a XBR from tower, then after a coupon it'll break even.

Interesting observation - the HPI RX-8 body I have has nice little dimples to tell you where to drill out holes for body mounts and the antennae. Well, the front body mount dimples were dead on for the TA05. The rear ones are way off - the rear posts will come up through the rear windshield, which seems odd - but unavoidable. Oh well.
Anyone have advice on how to gain just a little more offset (meaning, push the wheels out a tad wider)? The wheels I have come with very thin hex "inserts" you put into the wheel hex mount itself - so your hex driver from the chassis doesn't go in as deep (which means a less ideal transfer of power), but the wheels push out a tad. I have those on, but would like just a touch more...but I'm not sure if the inserts are the only way to make it wider, or if there are other means....

Eman, you can run thicker hex.. Tamiya sells the 6mm aluminum version... (what do you have on it now?)
If not, you need more offset on the rim to begin with.. HPI sells 3mm and 6mm offset rims!

Ah, of course. A thicker drive hex to begin with would work. (Although I like my pretty blue alum stock ones). Not sure of the width that came with the TA05R - I'll have to check the manual tonight.
Well, I do know that HPI rims come with different offsets - Tower didn't actually list an offset (and it slipped my mind when ordering). In looking at HPI's site, I believe they are 0 mm offset (as the stock TA05R dish wheels are).
Good ideas, thanks!

Blue one is most likely 4mm.. (could be 5mm too)
Silverone would be 6mm... that'd give you extra 4mm total track width (both side)..
Tamiya aluminum clamp type hex are available in 4, 5, and 6mm thickness..
Tower would list the offset on the wheel... !!
Good luck!
