i think it has been replaced with the aerobird 3.
Same with the scout which is replaced with the phantom.

You can still find the challenger though if you really want it

The Aerobird 3 is an improved Challenger.

Challenger had control lines and rubber bands working in combo to operate controls. The AB3 has wire pushrods - much better.

The AB3 has a soft rubber nose - better than the all plastic nose on the Challenger.

AB3 has 3-wire servos that are reusable.

Challenger came standard with a 6-cell battery pack. The AB3 has a 7-cell pack for a bit more power.

Other than that they are basically the same plane. V-tail, pusher, with the X-port for accessories. If it's the Challenger you've had a specific interest in, the AB3 is the same plane plus a bit.

Hope this helps.

Most of the other posts have answered it, here is some more data.

The Aerobird 3 is the next generation challenger. It uses the same body style, tail, and wing. The Aerobird 3 has a rubber nose to help in crashed.

The biggest difference is the Aerobird 3 uses the newer ZX-10 radio, which comes in 6 different channels. This means - it you already own a plane that uses the ZX-10 radio, like the Parkzone Spitfire, FW-190, or Hobbyzone swift, you can simply buy the Aerobird 3 body for about half the price. Or vice verse if you decide to buy the other planes.

The challenger's internal electronics used two 5 wire servow that were mounted on the PCB. The Aerobird 3 has a smaller PCB that is used for RX only and has two standard external micro-servos. If you fly alot and crash here and there, the servo gears shear or break. This makes replacing them easy with the Aerobird 3. With the challenger, you could not do this.

Overall, the Aerobird 3 is one of my favorite planes. I fly many other electrics and nitro and this one is a tough plane that flys fast and is tough in crashes.
