Default Burrito

I've had some questions about the throttle setup on the Burrito.. I just used a micro servo and a push rod and tube out the leading edge of the wing. Here's how I did it...

Paul,

Do you have some more advice and pictures concerning installing the radio gear?

Thanks

I used 1/4" sq spruce for the servo rails... You can use standard servo's and standard RX. For a little extra torque I like a 6 volt 720 mAh NiMh battery... I can post some pics in a little bit.....

Paul,

Could you or someone post a picture of how you ran the pushrods. I'd like to see a good up close picture of how you secured them to the profile. I'm pretty sure I understand your directions, I'd just like to see a good picture to make sure.

Thanks again for yours, and everyone else's help

Here's the bottom of mine. I used the short pieces of plastic pushrod tubing clamped to the fuse by landing gear straps. I used long 2-56 screws through the fuse and through another gear strap for the pushrod on the other side. I have another pair of these midway back to the control horns.

What is required to complete a burrito in addition to the Full Kit?

Just radio gear, control linkages, and engine.... If you need more detail, I'll compile a list.

Thanks, a list is not necessary. I have a spa3dt that I am going to replace eventually with probably a Burrito. I have an MDS 48 on it that will make the burrito climb out of sight. Will my standard servos (futaba) be adequate? I also have three or four partial rolls of Monokote which should be adequate.

Did you guys add some spacers when mounting the motor to induce a couple degrees of right thrust? If so how thick should they be?

Thanks again.

I used 2 4-40 washers under the front two holes on the engine.

Paul.

Thanks again, I can't say it enough you all have been great help. I'm hoping to have this plane finished by this weekend. Then I'm putting together my ultra stick and fixing my super stick, and I've got a foamy electric in the works also. I haven't been doing any flying lately, it's just too cold and snowy for that. I know others may disagree, but this time of year its skiing, snowmachining and building planes (not flying them).

Thanks once again.

I've got an OS 46 FX I'm mounting on my burrito. I plan on mounting it in about the middle of the engine mount, is this were you all would recommend mounting it? Also any tips on getting all four holes drilled out perfectly? How do you guys mark your holes for drilling? I started on mine last night, thought I had the second hole lined up perfect, not sure if my drill press slipped a bit, but it ended up off by about 1/16!QUOT!.

I hope to have mine finished by the end of the weekend.

Thanks again.

I put my engine back as far as I could get it.... I use a little piece of 1/8" brass tubing left over from doing a fuel tank, with a sharpened piece of left over control rod..... I clamp the engine in and mark each hole
