Is there a preferred Pro Bro hotel in the area?

Eric
Any of the Hotels along Jefferson Ave. will convenient and close to the field. When I get home this evening I will call around and see if I can get them to give us some type of discount.

capthis, are you bringing your big Cap? Had a local guy thinking of bringing out some of his half-scale stuff, he was wondering if there would be any more large scale craft there.

If I can make it I will prolly bring it. Or something big?? I will prolly have smallfly with me in the truck so space will be limited. My planes would look tiny next to half scale though! []

I done some checking around on the Hotels, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is they are having a ball tournament here the same weekend as the fly in, so rooms are filling up fast, some are already booked up. The good news is there are a couple hotels that dont want to rent to the kids at the tournament.

Hampton Inn has saved 45 rooms for that weekend. You have to ask for the manager (his name is Todd) to get one of these rooms. Tell him you are with the Pro Bros flyin at the UCRCS field and he will discount the room, it will be $85.00 per night PH# 931-520-1117

Country Inn Suites has several rooms left, they dont want to rent to the ball players either. They wouldn't give a discount but the rate is $85.00 per night. PH# 931-520-3800

Best Value Inn has some rooms left $49.95 per night. This is a fairly new motel and should be a nice place to stay, although I have never stayed there. PH# 931-526-9521

I have a few more places to check back, where the manager was out.

All rates I posted are for 2 people double rooms. Make your reservations soon

Everyone is also welcome to camp at the field, but it will be primitive, no hookups for motor homes. Jim and I will be staying at the field Friday night to keep an eye on the BBQ, and would enjoy the company!

Made my reservation at the Best Value Inn. One other local guy has committed to attending and a couple of other maybes.

Does anyone have the street address to the flying field? The club website has directions to the field, but I did not see the address.

Eric, glad you have your reservations and are bringing some people along.... I'm not sure of the field address, I will try and find out what it is. The directions are good and we will have some signs up, should be very easy to find us.

We are leaving on vacation Monday and I will be away from RCU until Friday. The following Monday starts an eight day business trip to LA. I'm taking a foamy on vacation but will not get to fly while in California.[&o] Looks like my Pro Bro prep schedule is a wash.

This will be my first Pro Bro event, and I'm looking forward to it. Wish I had more time to burn some fuel before Cookeville. Most of today's flying time was wasted on a three hour phone call with Dell technical support.[:@]

There has not been any discussion about Cookeville the past few days. Are the Village Pro Bros on tour?

Hey Guys,

Bring your electric Foamys. We're going to night fly at Mike Burgess' house on Friday night.

Bring a bag-chair and a cooler and we'll have some fun.

Hey Guys,

Bring your electric Foamys. We're going to night fly in Lowe's parking lot from 9pm-Till on Friday night.

Whether you have gear on it or not, we have carpet landing mats.

Bring a bag-chair and a cooler and we'll have some fun.

Rob
well, that sounds like fun. Hope there is plenty of light.

Is that to take naps on??? A bro landing a foamy??? I don't think so! Pro bro rule # 17 clearly states all foamy aircraft must be "snacthed" from hovers, and not landed! Go read your rule book. Jeesh!!!

Seriously sounds like fun to me. Did lowes appove this?
