The plane was originally designed for an OS FP 40. A very light plain bearing motor, my guess is it is pretty similar to the power of a good ball bearing 36. Pretty sure its enough power for lots of fun, a couple others tried smaller engines and said they liked it better that way. Run a search, there has been a lot said about the magic. A few complaints, but most of the things said about it are good. I love mine.
I run an old 47, but i did have to put about 3 OZ of lead in the tail to get the ballance back to where i like it (it is a little tail heavy), it is the best spinning plane i have. Best fun you can buy under 100$ (ARF)

I use the TT PRO 36 on my Magic and it works great. Put a MSC on it and it will hover and climb out of site. I have nothing but good things to say about it. Great power to weight ratio! :devious:
I always gotta put the biggest engine possible on my planes
