OS 55AX for Mojo?

I don't think you will be able to fit anything larger than a 6 oz tank in the available space. Besides, why add the extra weight? I get about 12 minutes flying time with a 50 size Enya engine (not that I am as seasoned as Paul). On a touch-and-go I can see about how much is left in the tank. At the end of the day I like to fly it dry and deadstick.

I just finshed the wing on my mojo. I do have a 8 oz hayes tank that I have lying around. But I think Iam going to go with a 6 oz. Weight and space wise I think it will be better. What would you get about 3 to 4 minutes more with the 8oz?

What do you mean space wise? On my last mojo 40 I ran a 13oz tank out of a H9 plane and it worked fine. More gas = more 3D fly'in!
Are you stuffing it in the wing or what?

OK, I think I have the situation figured out and yes I am talking about a 40 size mojo to. I think your worried about overlapping the tank with the bottom of the engine case. That is how I was able to put the 13oz tank on there. Sure the CG changed a bit during flight but may would it flip around while getting near the end of the tank. If memory serves me right, my tank was only an inch or two from the prop and then went all the way to the wing, against it.
Best of luck,
Dave

I was confused. I just looked at my Mojo. I had been thinking of my Burrito, which has a shorter distance between the leading edge of the wing and the engine than the Mojo. On the Mojo there are several inches to spare between the front of my 6 oz tank and the propeller. The Mojo can certainly accommodate a larger tank. It would be difficult to fit a larger tank on the Burrito.
Sorry about that.

Personally, I'd go with the .55 over the .70. The .70 is about 5 ounces heavier and I suspect the available power is very close between the two......if I had to bet on it, I'd put my money on the 55 having more. ![Smile](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Just my thoughts....

Well, I may be reading Tower's website wrong, but I think it says the .70 weighs 22.1 ounces with the muffler. Is there more than one OS .70 out there?

Shoot sorry Eric, I grabbed that FL-70 and you are right about it all. Wow I never realized how heavy the OS 70's are compared to the saitos!

No sweat, Dave. Actually, I forgot all about the FL .70.
Is it significantly down on power compared to the Surpass? Why is it so much lighter? If you can't tell, I'm really not familiar with OS's current offerings. ![Smile](https://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Edit: I took it upon myself to check out the difference between these two. They both appear to put out the same amount of power; one just has a bit more plastic and an airbleed carb. Why would anyone pay more for a heavier engine with the same power? I personally wouldn't mind the plastic parts and airbleed carb as long as it was reliable. I wonder......does it make the same power in real-life applications or is OS just playing with the power ratings?
