Default Want to get into Electric Boats....

Hi,

New to the boards here. I want to get into Electric Boats. I've been in Electric RC for over a year now, race off road trucks and such. I want to get into boats now. I've see offshoreelectrics site and I can't believe these things.

I'd like to find a very good boat, something that is easy to work on and upgradeable / modifiedable. Tower has a RTR boat the Turbo Vee II and I'm wondering if it's a good start boat, plus the price is nice, but price and RC just don't always go together.

What are some good boats out there. I'm not looking to actually build one, just one that i can either buy complete or add my own electronics to.

What are things I should look into when buying and looking for a boat?

Thanks!!!

- Eric

Default try this for another place or two besides Tower

This company offers several good combo deals. I have a Blast & am pretty pleased with it for the cost. Included a radio & speed control. Fair speed, radio is good but I wouldn't really recommend it much except for price.

I'm serriously considering an ElectroVee or even stepping up to fast electrics.

Try Rum Runner Racing, though they are at the higher end of the hobby, I like the reading.

But to answer your question the Tower boat is nice and will work great for fun running.

It's durable and the motors can easily be changed out for more speed.

Thanks for all the links. I sure they are all good boats but the prices are quite a bit more than I want to spend, plus seeing the tower boat, some of the features for it's price is very resonable. I just plan to play with it anyway, maybee put a faster motor and better esc in it.
