what r/c would suit my needs?
Hi, my brother would realy like to get an r/c vehicle, but with so many different types i'm not sure to suggest to him[] could someone please hep me these are what he wants from an r/c:
fast
something that can jump well and wont break too easily
offroad
fairly good handling
and this is where he wil be driving it:
on the road
ovals
rocky ground
so if someone could specify what they think would best suit his needs in:
format
electric/nitro
and mabee if you could suggest a model as well,
thanks

it depends on his money situation if there is slow cash flowing i would say a staduim truck that should meet the needs of what you said if he has meduim cash flow go with the 1/8 buggies this is what i have at the time when i had gotten it the cash i had coming in wasnt to fast so now i have to do alot to get new stuff that is better and all for it... now monster trucks i have heard those are money pits but i have never had one so i dont know my friend has one and he has spent a fair amount on it you can get monster trucks fast but it takes alot of money too

Tamiya TA-02 (Chevy S-10/Ford F-150)
Electric
the stock tires are good for just about any terrain and I have had ny truck for years and never broke a thing (including the body) and i have my truck through hell. Mud, walls, flipping has all been done just get some bearings for it, the stock bushings wore out in about 2 1/2 years, and Tamiya is one of the best companies around so you cant go wrong

Mine does a bit over 25 with a MVP but its not built to go super fast, if you wanted to you could make it go faster but I dont want speed in fact I am think of putting the stock motor back in for the run time. I am using buggy springs for maximum ground clearance. If you want to ask me anymore questions or whatever send me an instant message(my screen name is in my signature)

Maybe a stampede would be good for your bro. or yourself hehe. Mine can get up to 20 mph just with a 7 turn motor and tekin rebel esc. but it can go faster with a novk brushless ss5800 motor and speed control. as i have learned on this website. which i think is great. you also can switch out gears which is a big help. hope this helps. And i do both on and off road with mine.

i saw the X-cellerator it looked preety nice it sounds as if he was just going to bash so that would be a pretty good starter r/c. alot of people say start with electrics but all i was used too was those little tyco r/c cars and then stepped up to a 1/8 scale nitro yes it took a few weeks of practice to get the hang of it but you will eventually learn and be good

Here's a car worth considering. Based on the conditions your brother wants for an R/C car, I would suggest getting a Duratrax Evader Bx. It is an electric buggy, is upgradeable and is fairly inexpensive. You'll get off-roadiness and the option to upgrade, when you want to.

If your brother's Rush is still considered low by you, then maybe you need a nitro monster truck. They achieve fair speeds. Shop around for one.
