Just like the title says. How fast will they go in both Nitro and electric? 120, 130, 150 mph?????
Areodynamics has to be a huge factor.
If nobody can answer than i'll be there to see it myself...

Going 100mph is not as easy as just bolting in a big engine to any old car. 100mph cars are usually built specifically for one purpose and that is to go really fast on a prepared track in a straight line. Try starting with an easier target such as 60mph.

Ok Before you gget your hopes up about breaking 100 Mph. LEt me telll you its basically impossible to do that without extensivly modifying the car. there is no engine you can drop in and expect 100 MPH.

Speaking of gearing I'm a bit of a tinkerer and found old photocoppiers have the right pitch gears if you had acces to a lathe to make hubs for them you could have endlees ratios outside off the shelf aftermarket. Its on my list of things to do for my rs4 2, I want to make the fastest 1 speed with a tired 15fe.

I would have to say that they could break the record if they use a new brushless system that is faster than the ones they used to break the record.

First of I think that the speed world recored will be brokin. But as for you breaking the 100mph mark it will take a lot more then just droping in a 200 dollar motor. There was a guy back a couple of years back that had several years of planing and a custom made .21 in a custom made car from team associated and he didnt even break 107mph. He had several thousand hours wrapped into his car and several hundred hours of testing on this all custom made car. So as far as you breaking the 100mph with a off the shelf engine is highly unlikely but I will not say impossible as anything is possible. As a famous person once said anything is possible you just have to put more money into it. But after saying all of that.
Yes I do think the speed record will once again go to a brushless motor with a crap load of lipo's to give the power. But im saying by 4-6 mph.

I think the speed record will be broken by around 8-10 mph as the record run was in 2004 and now it's 2 years later! Also the car didn't use lipos but instead a ton of little nicd batteries. I think with lots of tiny lipo cells the record can easily be broken...

From what i read, Electric holds the top speed record. What about Nitro? What's the fastest in that class?

I have seen a nitro car go 200mph+. Of coarse I can't find the vid now but they tied a rope to a gas car and it went 200+ in a circle. I will try to find the vid.

It may not be fake but it's not an rc car. As you have put it it's a tether car and there for it is not an rc. Yes we have all seen it and what it can do. As for the nitro record they did get a car to go 109. something so the nitro's arent fare off at all. I think at any given time a nitro could break the record. But of course thats the official record and some have claimed to get there cars a lot faster. But thats weather you want to believe them or not.

I have never seen it on this site before. I downloaded it a very long time ago, can't remember where.
Also r/c stands for remote control. It must be an r/c car then right? Tether or no tether, it's controled by remote. The only reason I can see for the tether is that by the time it builds up speed, it would be out of range. I wouldn't want to be the guy in the middle though.
