Default MOTOR BRUSH SOLDERING HELP!!!

i've been having trouble soldering my brushes onto my motor endbell. i use a epic x motor so it doesnt have any screws to attach the brush shunts with. i cant seem to get the new shunt in the gap on the motor power tab. i've just been soldering the end of the shunt to the outside of the tab lately, but i'd like to hear of any ideas or advice as to how to get the solder out of that small gap and how to get my brush shunts in there so i can solder them in like the manufacturer does. thanks.

I usually solder my motor wires to the tabs, and my shunts straight to the wires.

are you saying that your brush shunts are soldered to the same tabs that your motor uses? meaning that your (+) motor tab has both the esc + and the brush + wires on it ( and the same for the negative tab)?

how often do you replace your brushes?
doesnt repeated soldering of the shunts make them too brittle after a couple times of soldering or desoldering your motor?
