Default Question for T-Maxx owners

Does the transmitter that comes with the kit have a charging jack for recharging NiCd batteries? How do you recharge the starter system? I like using rechargeable batteries in all my stuff that requires batteries. Does the kit come with a charger?

Default Question for T-Maxx owners

you need a 7.2v 6 cell pack to use EZ-start and you will have to buy a charger seperatly proboly.

you could also go with a cheap radio shack one with charger for 30 bucks http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...%5Fid=23%2D322

and i think most kits dont include that transmitter charger.

Well the stock TX does not come with a charging jack, and the starting system uses a 6 cell pack, and no charger is included

Default Question for T-Maxx owners

You can't use AA batteries in the starter? What about the transmitter, does it have a jack you can plug a charger into?

Default Question for T-Maxx owners

That sucks. Having to use alkalines, or pulling out rechargeable batteries all the time to charge them gets old.

Default Question for T-Maxx owners

If they have to make their kits RTR's, at least they could make them more compatable by putting charging jacks and so forth on them.

Default Question for T-Maxx owners

The TMAXX transmitter doesnt have a charge jack. The starter cant use AA's it uses 6 cell nicad 7.2volt just like your electric car uses to run.

Default Question for T-Maxx owners

Grampi,

The TMaxx comes with the standard 4 cell receiver pack. I use rechargeable NiMh AA's in mine. It's pretty easy to get to them and recharge them.

Aftermarket companies make separate 5 cell packs that have rechargeable jacks that will fit in the stock mounting location. They even fit under the stock receiver box. Nothing different from any other car that you purchase.

Now for the starter you have to have a 6 cell battery pack such as one that fits in an electric car. You need a separate charger to charge this pack. If you get a quick charger (about $30.00 for the low end) you could purchase one that will charge 4-7 cells and set it up to charge an aftermarket 5 cell receiver pack as well as the 6 cell starter pack.
